Background
Mellor Online are a family-run business, that provides Auto electrical services across West Yorkshire. Formed in 1979 by Ian Mellor, they have built up an extensive and established client base from the friendly, professional and reliable service that Mellor Online provide. In 2003, Ian was joined by his son Stuart who qualified at Manchester college with an advanced diploma in auto electrics.
With online demand becoming more and more popular, Stuart took the business online in 2008 and launched its first online shop service selling auto electrical parts such as Webasto, Eberspacher and Durite, before any of their competitors. As well as providing the first spare parts website and heater repair service of its kind, Stuart also gave free technical support to all his customers, diagnosing problems and issues over the phone. From there, Mellor Online then expanded into the marine and leisure market.
Today Mellor Online is greatly respected within their market and holds an excellent reputation with their customers. Mellor Online are not just another online retailer but a solutions provider, and their success is due to their focus on providing their customers with the best possible service, advice and support.
Business Need
The issue that Mellor Online were facing were is that that they built many of their items which nvolved a lot of paperwork and time building the BOM (bill of materials) for the finished products items and then picking those items against an invoice.
Our Solution
By working with Bit Systems, we were able to provide Mellor Online with a solution that made their stock levels more accurate and allowed them to easily pick, build and invoice their BOM’s with minimal effort. By making their internal processes far more efficient it allowed Mellor Online to be able to service a larger customer base without the need for more resource.
“By introducing Bit Inventory 50 as our stock management solution, we have been able to double the amount of stock that we can manage, without needing to take on any extra staff”
